Our refill material, named Floradent, is a world first home compostable toothpaste refill. It is a plant-based material created through a natural fermentation process, where renewable feedstocks are converted into a high-performance biopolymer.

Floradent is designed to break down under home composting conditions and is certified TÜV OK compost HOME, meaning it can fully biodegrade in a home compost environment without leaving harmful residues.

If you don’t have access to a compost, it’s also okay to dispose of it in your general waste - it will still break down over time.

Yes, it contains fluoride at 1,450 ppm, the dentist‑recommended level for strengthening enamel and preventing cavities. Fluoride makes it harder for cavity-causing bacteria to produce acids that damade enamel while still allowing the good bacteria in your oral microbiome to thrive.

It’s super simple- just follow these four quick steps:

1. Remove pump head: Hold the base & twist the pump head anticlockwise. After ~90°, the nozzle will pop up. Continue twisting until the pump head separates from the base.

2. Attach the refill to the pump: Remove the aluminium cap from the new refill, unscrew the old refill and then re-screw the new refill into the pump until secure.

3. Re-attach the pump: Place the pump onto the base. Twist the pump clockwise until fully tightened & the nozzle lines up with the Mighty logo.

4. Pop the nozzle up: Twist the pump head anti-clockwise 90° to unlock the nozzle. Pump a few times to remove the air.

Don’t worry, this usually just means the pump and refill aren’t secured together quite right. It’s an easy fix!

Sometimes, if the dispenser hasn’t been fully assembled, it can stop the toothpaste from dispensing properly.

Looking for a tube? Our dispenser actually works as an airless system, so there isn’t a tube inside the refill. Instead, each refill has a small piston at the bottom that pushes the toothpaste upwards as you pump. You may need to pump the dispenser nozzle a few times to bring the toothpaste to the top of the refill. Once the air has cleared, the toothpaste should start dispensing normally.

Based on one person brushing twice a day (with two pumps of the toothpaste each time), each refill lasts around 4 to 6 weeks.

Of course, it depends a little on how generous you are with your toothpaste - but on average, one refill keeps your smile Mighty for around a month.

There are a couple of ways you can go about this:

1. Put in general waste and the material will decompose leaving no microplastics behind in 6-12 months

2. The material is home compostable so you can put it in your compost at home and it should decompose within 6-12 months.

Mighty refills are made from biobased, biodegradable materials, so they’ll naturally break down over time.

Under ideal composting conditions, our refills can fully decompose within 6–12 months - faster than something as ordinary as a banana peel!

In cooler or drier environments, the process may take a little longer, but unlike plastic, they’ll never linger in nature or leave behind microplastics.

Since V2 has a slightly different design the existing refills won't work with the V2 dispenser. The V2 refills will however be home compostable.

Our original Mighty dispenser is made from ABS plastic, including post-consumer recycled (PCR) material. ABS is a durable, high-quality plastic and while it can be recycled, it isn’t always accepted in household recycling bins.
